Strakka Fastest in Barcelona Pre-Qualifying

Strakka Racing topped the timesheets in Pre-Qualifying for the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Saturday afternoon.

The British team’s No. 43 Mercedes-AMG GT3, driven by Maxi Goetz, Maxi Buhk and Alvaro Parente, logged a best time of 1:44.480 early in the 90-minute session.

It was 0.069 seconds clear of the No. 4 Black Falcon Mercedes while Belgian Audi Club Team WRT was third with its No. 1 Audi R8 LMS GT3. 

The session was red-flagged on two occasions for short periods while the Daiko Lazarus Racing and Strakka cars of Arno Santamato and Nick Leventis were retrieved from gravel traps.

Ram Racing led the way in Pro-Am with its Mercedes while AKKA ASP’s No. 90 Mercedes was the quickest Silver Cup competitor. 

Walkenhorst Motorsport edged out Herberth Motorsport to put the No. 36 BMW M6 GT3 on top in the Am Cup, meanwhile.

Qualifying will take place at 9 a.m. local time on Sunday morning ahead of the race at 3 p.m.
