Reigning Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final champion Frederick Schandorff has joined Barwell Motorsport for a refreshed Silver Cup entry in the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.

Schandorff will race Barwell’s Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo alongside fellow newcomer Alex MacDowall and returnee Jordan Witt for the full five-race Endurance Cup season.

They’ll be joined by Sandy Mitchell as the fourth driver in July’s Total 24 Hours of Spa.

Mitchell raced full-season last year alongside Witt and James Pull, finishing third in the Silver Cup teams’ standings and winning their class at Spa.

Danish driver Schandorff has already been confirmed with Vincenzo Sospiri Racing in GTWC Asia and the Italian GT Championship, also in Lamborghini GT3 machinery.

He won the Super Trofeo Middle East championship early last year before claiming victory in Lamborghini’s season-ending World Final at Jerez in a tie-break.

“I am so happy to get the opportunity to drive with Barwell Motorsport, I can’t wait to get back on the European tracks, and am looking forward to working hard with the team to try and win the Silver Cup,” he said.

MacDowall, meanwhile, raced for WRT in GTWC Europe last year but previously competed in Aston Martin and Ferrari GTE machinery, winning the European Le Mans Series title in 2016.

“I’m really looking forward to starting a new season with such an iconic brand and race winning team,” the Brit added.

“This will be my second year in the championship so I’ll be looking to challenge for the title and give it everything until the checkered flag drops at the last round.”

Barwell previously confirmed an Am Cup entry, also only for the Endurance races, for Leo Machitski, with Adrian Amstutz his co-driver at all races except Spa.
