Dries Vanthoor kept Team WRT’s No. 32 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo II on top of the timing sheets at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa official test by leading on Tuesday afternoon.

Vanthoor produced a time of 2:17.490 to set the pace in the five-hour second test session after his co-driver Charles Weerts went quickest during the three-hour morning spell by a margin of 0.029 seconds.

The No. 32 WRT Audi, which finished second at Spa last year, climbed to the top of the order with a little under three hours remaining in the second session of the first day.

Vanthoor moved WRT ahead of the early pace-setters which were the No. 777 Al Manar Racing by HRT Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo and the No. 47 KCMG Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Dinamic Motorsport driver Matteo Cairoli delivered a pair of quick lap times in succession to put the Italian team’s No. 54 Porsche into second with 80 minutes left on the clock.

Cairoli ended up on a time of 2:17.535, just 0.045 seconds shy of Vanthoor’s benchmark.

Laurens Vanthoor settled for third in the KCMG Porsche with a 2:17.747 effort.

The top three drivers were the only ones to go faster than 2m 18s on Tuesday afternoon, whereas five cars broke that barrier during the opening session.

Al Manar Racing by HRT ended up fourth quickest overall and racked up a total of 92 laps to lead the way in that department.

The only major recorded incident was a brief Full Course Yellow period to clear the remains of a puncture for The Heart of Racing with TF Sport’s Aston Martin Vantage GT3.

Both of the Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT3s turned laps for the first time this week after skipping the opening session.

Two more tests are planned for Wednesday, replicating Tuesday’s schedule of one three-hour morning run followed by five hours of afternoon track action.
