SRO Motorsports Group has finalized the calendar for the 2017 season of the Blancpain GT Series, which features the addition of a second Belgian round and the confirmation of the Hungaroring round.

The provisional 2017 schedule, which was released in the build up to the Total 24 Hours of Spa in July made no mention of Circuit Zolder, but it’s understood the Belgian track kept pushing for a deal in the following months.

The addition of the Zolder Sprint Cup round in early June comes at the expense of Zandvoort, with the track located in the Dutch dunes losing its provisional slot between the Silverstone and Paul Ricard Endurance Cup races.

As previously reported by Sportscar365, SRO also confirmed a return to the Hungaroring.

The provisional 2017 calendar listed an August event, either to be held at the Hungaroring or Red Bull Ring.

No further changes were made to the 2017 schedule, which will again feature ten rounds, with the Barcelona and Nürburgring rounds swapping to have the Spanish circuit take over as the season-ending round for the Endurance Cup in October.

“After a successful 2016 it is clear that it was a good decision to reduce the Blancpain GT Series to ten rounds and to unite five sprint and five endurance races under one banner,” said SRO Motorsports Group boss Stephane Ratel.

“The 2017 calendar includes the well-known traditional meetings, but with a twist, to keep things fresh.”

2017 Blancpain GT Series Schedule:

April 1-2 — Misano (Sprint)
April 22-23 — Monza (Endurance)
May 6-7 — Brands Hatch (Sprint)
May 13-14 — Silverstone (Endurance)

June 23-24 — Paul Ricard 1000km (Endurance)
July 27-30 — Total 24 Hours of Spa (Endurance)

Sept. 15-17 — Nürburgring (Sprint)
