Maxwell Scores GTS Race 1 Pole

Scott Maxwell put PF Racing on pole for GTS Race 1 at Utah Motorsports Campus…

Scott Maxwell edged Matt Keegan to take pole position for Pirelli World Challenge GTS Race 1 at Utah Motorsports Campus.

Maxwell, driving the No. 55 PF Racing Ford Mustang GT4, held on to the top spot by a mere 0.060 seconds over Keegan in the No. 50 Team Panoz Racing Avezzano GT4.

ST Racing’s Jon Miller was third overall and first of the Am class contenders in the No. 36 BMW M4 GT4.

Championship leader Alex Welch was fourth for GMG Racing with Matt Fassnacht fifth for Murillo Racing.

There were no major incidents in the 20-minute session.

Race 1 is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. local time with live streaming coverage at World-Challenge.com.

RESULTS: Qualifying

Ryan Myrehn is an Indianapolis-based broadcaster and reporter. In addition to his work covering primarily domestic sports car racing for Sportscar365, he is the lead announcer for SRO America's TV coverage as well as a pit reporter for IndyCar Radio. Myrehn, a graduate of DePauw University, is also the host of Sportscar365's “Double Stint” Podcast.
