Nic Hammann is set for his Blancpain Sprint Series debut, with the 2014 Nissan GT Academy North America winner having been confirmed for next weekend’s round at Moscow Raceway.

The 22-year-old Wisconsin native will team with Russian GT Academy winner Mark Shulzhitskiy at the wheel of a RJN Motorsports Nissan GT-R GT3 NISMO for the one-off race.

Hammann, who kicked off his professional racing career with a second place class finish in January’s Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai, is also confirmed to make his Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge debut next month at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

“My GT Academy racing journey continues as I get to travel to Russia, a country I never could have ever imagined visiting,” said Hammann. “I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the RJN Motorsports GT-R GT3 again.

“Mark [Shulzhitskiy] has experience in many different forms of racing, driving at Paul Ricard in the Blancpain Endurance Series GT3 this coming weekend and LeMans in LMP1 last weekend. I will do my best to make the most of this great opportunity Nissan is giving me.”

The Nissan GT Academy Team RJN effort is one of four additional entries for the Russian round, which has been relocated to Moscow Raceway from its original planned street race.
