While not as big as the Roar Before the Rolex 24, next week’s two-day test at Daytona International Speedway will offer a preview and selection of cars both new and old expected to compete in the 2016 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule.

Sportscar365 has learned a field of 25 cars is expected to test, with safety inspection occurring on Monday, Nov. 16 and testing on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 17-18.

There will be six Prototype and five Prototype Challenge cars testing.

Both Action Express Racing entries and the VisitFlorida.com Racing Corvette DPs are set to test, along with one of the two Mazda prototypes, the DeltaWing coupe and the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda, which will mark the first outing for the team’s new tub following its nightmare weekend at Road Atlanta.

CORE autosport, Starworks Motorsport, BAR1 Motorsports and JDC/Miller Motorsports are expected to have PC cars present, with BAR1 having two cars listed.

The GT ranks are slightly more interesting. Both Corvette C7.Rs and both of the new Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GTs are listed to test, as is one of the new BMW M6 GTLMs.

Among GT Daytona cars, Change Racing has a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 set to test, and BMW’s GT3-version of the M6 is also anticipated. Factory single-car Mercedes-AMG GT3 and Audi R8 LMS efforts are also coming to Daytona.

The No. 007 TRG-AMR Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, No. 33 Riley Motorsports Dodge Viper GT3-R, the two DragonSpeed Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3s and an Autometrics Motorsports Porsche 997 GT3 R are also expected to test.

The one notably absent car among expected cars is the Cadillac ATS-V.R, which had been linked to this test. A McLaren 650S GT3 was also suggested, but is not listed.
