Audi factory driver Filipe Albuquerque will join Action Express Racing’s No. 5 Corvette DP for three of the four Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup races in 2016, joining Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi.

Additionally, the previously announced Scott Pruett will be part of the No. 5 car’s entry at Daytona, and in the No. 31 car at Sebring.

Albuquerque will race at Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans, having confirmed the news this morning. It comes following his first test with the team last week at Daytona, and has been anticipated for several weeks.

“Now it’s official. Very happy to race with Action Express on the endurance championship on the car #5 along with João Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi. Scott Pruett will be joining us too for Daytona,” Albquerque said.

He joins fellow Audi factory drivers Marcel Fassler and Mike Rockenfeller in IMSA endurance races, as Fassler and Rockenfeller were confirmed last week as Corvette Racing’s third drivers for Daytona and Sebring.

Additionally, Simon Pagenaud has been confirmed for the Rolex 24, as expected, as fourth driver alongside Eric Curran, Dane Cameron and Jonny Adam.
