Nicolas Lapierre will miss the next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Six Hours of Fuji.

Toyota Racing announced today Lapierre will not race this weekend in Japan, citing personal reasons for his absence.

Lapierre, who shares the No. 8 Toyota TS040 Hybrid with Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Buemi, currently leads the FIA World Endurance Championship. He will not be replaced in Japan.

“Nicolas is taking a break due to his personal circumstances and the team will support him during this period,” Toyota Racing Team President Yoshiaki Kinoshita said.

“This was a decision we have taken together. Our driver line-up is close to completion for 2015 and beyond, and Nicolas remains a long-term member of our team.”
