This weekend’s Pirelli World Challenge event at Circuit of The Americas will go ahead as planned, in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, which has brought mass devastation to the coastal areas of Texas.

WC Vision met with COTA representatives on Monday morning, which have indicated that all systems are still go for the event, which will include a triple-header to close out the SprintX season, as well as GTS and TC Sprint races.

The Category 4 Hurricane made landfall on Friday, causing mass flooding and significant damage to the state, which has been declared a state of emergency in many counties.

It’s understood Austin has received limited damage, and although still significant amounts of rain, local businesses and the airport remain open.
