Team Rosberg has opted for continuity in its DTM driving squad with Nico Mueller and Dev Gore both returning to the team for the upcoming season.

Rosberg is the third Audi team to announce its 2022 DTM lineup after Abt Sportsline retained Kelvin van der Linde and signed Rene Rast and Ricardo Feller, and Attempto Racing joined the series with Marius Zug.

Mueller scored Rosberg’s only podium of the 2021 campaign at the Monza opener and went on to finish 10th in the standings, while Gore ended up on zero points.

Two-time championship runner-up Mueller will again lead the lineup, with Gore aiming to move higher up the drivers’ standings in his second DTM term.

Mueller will balance his DTM drive with a full-time FIA World Endurance Championship seat with the Vector Sport LMP2 squad.

Unlike last year, the DTM does not clash with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, however there is an overlap between the round at Spa and the 6 Hours of Fuji.

What’s important for us is continuity,” said team principal Kimmo Liimatainen.

“For that reason we are delighted that Nico and Dev will continue to be part of Team Rosberg.

“Our goal is to fight for the title. We know that it won’t be easy, especially in the top-class DTM field, but we’ll give it our all. We want to prove that we can do better than last year.

“Nico is shining with his experience and his professionalism and is just remarkably fast. Dev, during his first DTM season last year, was willing to learn and was able to improve. We are optimistic that he can continue this way.”
