Alex Brundle will join PROsport Racing for a program at the Nordschleife this year, piloting an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in the Nürburgring 24.

The 32-year-old Briton will link up back with the Wiesemscheid-based squad, having obtained his Nordschleife permit driving a Porsche Cayman with the team in 2018.

A year later, he went on to take a class victory in the Eifel endurance classic with AMR Performance Centre behind the wheel of an Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

“After winning the SP8T class in 2019, it was always my goal to return to the Green Hell and attack the overall victory in the top class,” said Brundle.

“It’s real old-school motorsport and I’m really excited to be returning to the Nürburgring with PROsport Racing.

“It’s a tough race so you need a team in the pit lane that you can trust to bring a reliable, safe and fast race car to the track.

“The PROsport team is such a team. It’s a nice cycle because I drove my first lap on the Nordschleife in one of the team’s cars.

“I’m also proud to be back behind the wheel of an Aston Martin, as I was in 2019, and to enjoy the technical support from Prodrive to make the most of our efforts.

“I can’t wait to race at the Nordschleife again!”

Brundle will share the V8-powered GT3 machine at the event with reigning ADAC GT4 Germany champions Mike David Ortmann and Hugo Sasse, as well Christoph Breuer.

In preparation for the N24, Ortmann and Breuer will drive the car for three NLS rounds leading up to the blue riband event.

Sasse, meanwhile, will pilot a PROsport-entered Aston Martin GT4 car alongside Guillaume Dumarey for the opening NLS fixtures to gain more Nordschleife experience before stepping up to join Ortmann, Breuer and Brundle in the GT3 car at the N24.

It is one of a pair of GT4 cars for the team, with a second Vantage entered for Guido Dumarey and Dusseldorf-based Ukrainian racer Yevgen Sokolovskiy.

Further drivers for both cars will be announced at a later date, according to the team.

The fleet of Aston Martins is completed by a second, full-season Vantage GT3. The returning pairing of Jean Glorieux and Maxime Dumarey will team up once again behind the wheel of the No. 17 car.
