Audi has continued to show the way at Circuit of The Americas, with Loic Duval topping the time charts in the third and final FIA WEC Free Practice ahead of this evening’s qualifying.
The Frenchman reeled off a best lap of 1:49.480 in the 60-minute session, which was run in dry conditions. Duval’s time was 0.680 seconds quicker than the sister No. 2 entry, which saw another 1-2 for the German manufacturer.
The No. 8 Toyota TS040 Hybrid was third quickest overall and in LMP1-H, although more than 1 second off the pace, while the No. 14 Porsche 919 Hybrid and No. 7 Toyota completed the top-five.
LMP1-L was again led by the No. 12 Rebellion Racing R-One Toyota, while the No. 26 G-Drive Racing Ligier JS P2 Nissan of Olivier Pla topped LMP2 for the first time of the weekend.
Aston Martin Racing swept the GTE class again, with the No. 99 Vantage leading the way in GTE-Pro and the Pedro Lamy-piloted No. 98 machine topping GTE-Am.
No major incidents were reported in the session.
Qualifying is set to get underway at 6 p.m. local.
