Daan Arrow will make his U.S. racing debut in this weekend’s Virginia is for Racing Lovers Grand Prix at Virginia International Raceway, in Winward Racing’s Mercedes-AMG GT4.

The 22-year-old Dutchman, whose changed his last name from the hard-to-pronounce Pijl (which means arrow in Dutch), will be making his GT4 debut alongside team owner Bryce Ward in the No. 57 Mercedes-AMG in Saturday’s two-hour race.

Arrow, who is well-experienced in GT3 competition in both Europe and Asia, joined the U.S. arm of Winward at Road America in 2024 and at this year’s Rolex 24 at Daytona in a familiarization capacity.

“I’m really excited to make my debut in the United States with Winward Racing, a team that feels like home and with whom I’ve already shared many successes in Europe,” he said.

“From winning the Silver GT World Challenge championship, to back-to-back podiums at the 24 Hours of Spa, we’ve built strong momentum, and I hope we can carry that forward.

“My main goal is to learn as much as possible with the new track and a new car, while supporting Bryce along the way, although it might be the other way around.”

Mercedes-AMG factory driver Philip Ellis took the seat in the No. 57 Mercedes-AMG GT4 last time out at Road America, which was previously held by Daniel Morad.
