Kiko Porto recorded the quickest time of the day following a pair of IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practice sessions in preparation for tomorrow’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park 120.
The RAFA Racing Team driver reeled off a chart-topping 1:22.188 in his No. 12 RAFA Racing Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 in Friday morning’s session to end up 0.277 seconds quicker than the second-placed No. 14 Circle H Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Evo of Thomas Merrill in the session.
Thiago Camilo paced the afternoon session, in warmer conditions, with a best lap of 1:22.323 in his No. 54 PanAm Motorsport Toyota that put him second quickest overall on the combined time sheets, ahead of Merrill.
Jaxon Bell was fourth on the time charts in the No. 12 Koch-Copeland Motorsports Toyota, in a time that was set in the opening 60-minute session, which ran without any red flags.
An accident for the No. 77 Stallion Motorsports w/ Gou CUPRA Leon VZ TCR of Raphael Reis in Turn 1 brought out a red in the opening 15 minutes of running in the afternoon.
Reis was evaluated and released from the infield medical center although the session was stopped for some time due to barrier repairs.
Quickest in TCR was Tyler Gonzalez in the No. 99 Victor Gonzalez Racing CUPRA, in a time that was set in the morning session.
Qualifying is set for Saturday at 8 a.m. EST followed by the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park 120 at 1:25 p.m. EST, which will be streamed live on Peacock and on IMSA’s YouTube channel, commercial-free courtesy of Michelin.
