A field of 81 cars will compete at Misano this weekend for the 12th edition of Lamborghini’s end-of-season World Finals event, where teams from Europe, North America and Asia will be represented.
As has become tradition, teams and drivers from Lamborghini’s three regional single-make series will gather at one location to first wrap up their individual championships before competing for the World Finals crown on Saturday and Sunday.
Similarly to last year, the European championship is the best represented with 36 cars, while Super Trofeo North America brings 23 entries.
The Asian championship, for its part, has seen a notable growth in entries compared to last year, with 22 cars appearing on the provisional entry list issued on Tuesday.
Two out of the three series still have their respective Pro championships up for grabs at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, as Charles Leong and Alex Denning already clinched the Asian title at Sepang in early September.
In fight for the European Pro title, Adam Putera closed to within three points of Oregon Team pairing Enzo Geraci and Josef Knopp, thanks to a clean sweep of victories at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last month.
Meanwhile, Wayne Taylor Racing duo Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson enter the Misano decider with a 16-point advantage over their North American title rivals Elias De la Torre and Will Bamber, meaning they can clinch the title during the opening race on Thursday.
After all regional championships have been decided, the schedule for Saturday and Sunday consists of a double-header to determine the World Finals, with all regional crews competing together in combined Pro/Pro-Am and Am/LB Cup qualifying and races.
