Cadillac has confirmed the aero update to its V-Series.R LMDh car, which will compete in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship next year, while also acknowledging the use of two additional Evo jokers.
The new-look car broke cover on Thursday in preparation for this weekend’s IMSA-sanctioned test at Daytona International Speedway, featuring extensively re-worked aero, including a new splitter, a re-positioned lower rear wing, removal of front dive planes and other bodywork modifications.
A Cadillac spokesperson, meanwhile, confirmed a full hardware switch to Brembo brakes, after previously using only Brembo calipers for the past three seasons.
“As part of its ongoing development to improve performance in the pursuit of podiums and wins, Cadillac has joined other manufacturers in aligning timing of EVO use with the updated aerodynamic homologation for 2026,” a statement issued by the manufacturer read.
“While the V-Series.R retains signature V-Series production design elements, notable changes include removal of front dive planes and winglets and reshaping the rear wing profile.”
A Cadillac spokesperson also confirmed that the V-Series.R has used two additional jokers for the updates, when taking into account the aero (bodywork) and mechanical (brakes).
It means the V-Series.R has used at three jokers to date, following its electronics update that was made for this year.
LMDh manufacturers are permitted to utilize up to five jokers through the end of 2027, as well as one new car homologation, with an additional two jokers allocated from 2028.
Both Wayne Taylor Racing entries as well as the Action Express Racing Cadillac are sporting the updates at Daytona, which also sees staff from Cadillac’s factory WEC team, Hertz Team JOTA, in attendance of the two-day test that kicks off today.
This story was updated at 2 p.m. ET with further confirmation of Evo joker usage and brake details from a Cadillac spokesperson
