The final version of the new Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo was presented for the first time at the Lamborghini Arena event at Imola last weekend ahead of its introduction in all three continental Super Trofeo championships next year.
The car was first unveiled at the Lamborghini World Finals at Misano last year but completed laps of the Imola circuit on Sunday in its final specification.
Lamborghini factory driver Marco Mapelli was behind the wheel of the car that the manufacturer confirmed will be introduced into its North American, European and Asian Super Trofeo categories in 2027.
It replaces the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 that has been used since 2022 and follows the debut of the new Temerario GT3 at Sebring in March.
“The Temerario Super Trofeo represents a completely new direction and marks the beginning of a new for Squadra Corse,” said Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann.
“For the first time, our Super Trofeo cars will be powered by a turbocharged powertrain and will be built entirely in-house at Automobili Lamborghini.
“This investment reflects a clear vision that motorsport is not simply a side project, but a core pillar of Lamborghini supported by a long-term strategy.”
The Temerario Super Trofeo is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine capable of delivering 620 horsepower and key differences between the GT3 and Super Trofeo versions include the suspension.
“With this product, our goal was to develop a car that is driver friendly while integrating more sophisticated components,” added Lamborghini head of motorsport Andrea Reggiani.
“The new Temerario Super Trofeo is deeply connected to our GT3 platform, sharing key components such as the gearbox [a Hoer sequential six-speed] and the braking system.
“At the same time, the car features important differences to the GT3 model: the turbochargers are the same as the road-going Temerario and the car is fitted by four-way adjustable KW Automotive dampers.”
The price of the new car in the U.S. is $399,000 plus taxes, in Europe it is € 295,000 plus VAT and duties, including shipping, while in the Asia-Pacific region it will cost €299,000 plus VAT and duties.
