Hedge Wins Rain-Soaked Third Road America Race

Callum Hedge bounced back from a post-race penalty in Race 2 to re-take his first Porsche Carrera Cup North America victory in Saturday’s rain-soaked third race of the weekend at Road America.

Hedge, who won Friday’s Race 2 on the road but was assessed a ten-second post-race time penalty for incident responsibility, claimed a flag-to-flag victory in his No. 9 JDX Racing Porsche 911 Cup.

The 40-minute contest served as the make-up round for Race 2 at Miami, which was initially called-off due to a Formula 1-induced schedule change during the Miami F1 Grand Prix weekend.

It marked the first Carrera Cup North America rain race with the series’ new-for-2026 Pirelli Cinturato WHB wet-weather tire, which it also utilized in global GT3 competition.

Hedge finished 0.383 seconds ahead of the No. 24 Kellymoss Porsche of Aaron Jeansonne, who fended off a challenge from Jared Thomas, and prior to that, Tyler Maxson.

Maxson, who started fourth on the grid, charged to second following the race’s first full-course caution and restart with 21 minutes to go.

However the Pro class championship leader ran wide at the Carousel, which dropped him to ninth at the time.

A second yellow for the No. 6 ACI Motorsports Porsche of Alex Pratt, who went off into the Turn 5 gravel with 12 minutes to go, set up a two-lap shootout to the finish, with the podium order unchanged.

Janne Stiak finished fourth in the No. 40 ACI Porsche, while Sabre Cook completed the top-five in her JDX entry.

Maxson rebounded to finish seventh, behind Kellymoss’ Paul Bocuse.

Scott Blind picked up the class win in Masters, finishing ninth overall, while Patrick Mulcahy was declared the Pro-Am winner despite retiring on the third lap after contact with the No. 2 CSM Porsche of Nikita Lastochkin, who both went off into the gravel at Canada Corner to bring out the first yellow.

The No. 29 Kellymoss Porsche of Josh Conley, the only other competitor in Pro-Am, did not start the race, as well as the sister car of Chris Bellomo, who had accident damage from Race 2.
