DH Racing drivers Stephane Lemeret, Michele Rugolo and Matthieu Vaxiviere have been stripped of their GT class victory in Sunday’s Four Hours of Buriram.
The No. 5 Ferrari 488 GT3 passed the sister No. 3 car on the final lap to lead a DH Racing 1-2 in the GT class, but have since lost the win to a post-race penalty.
This was awarded for driving too slowly in the fast lane of the pits, resulting in a 24-second time penalty that drops the championship leaders to third in class in the final classification.
Meanwhile, the No. 3 Ferrari of DH Racing inherits the win, with Rino Mastronardi, Alex Riberas and Olivier Beretta driving.
While Lemeret, Rugolo and Vaxiviere still lead the GT standings with one race to go, benefitting from a retirement for the VS Racing crew, it means that the title race will continue at Sepang rather being wrapped up in Buriram.
