Le Mans Test Saturday Notebook

***All cars present assembled on the start-finish straight today for the traditional group photo. The three factory contenders from Porsche, Audi and Toyota were joined by Rebellion Racing’s R-One on the front row, followed by a second Audi and Toyota and the Nissan ZEOD RC on the second row.

***Following the pre-Le Mans low-downforce Balance of Performance test at Ladoux last week, the ACO has revealed the latest update of the BoP for the GTE-classes. There are no big changes in GTE-Pro, with the only adjustment being the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE gaining an additional 5 liters fuel capacity.

***The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR and 911 RSR remain at 90 liters, while the Ferrari 458 and Corvette C7.R are allowed to carry 85 liters. The Ferrari 458 received the green light to run in a specific Le Mans trim. The Corvette C7.R gained an extra 1.3mm on its two restrictors, while the rear wing was lowered by 25 mm.

***One of the latest changes to be made to the track is the installment of new curbstones at the final chicane before start-finish, preventing the drivers from cutting the corner too much.

***The Nissan ZEOD RC has finally arrived at the Circuit de la Sarthe, after some last minute testing in Great Britain yesterday. The car that occupies the 56th Garage is equipped with a rear view camera attached to its shark fin to give the drivers better visibility.

***The Automobile Club de l’Ouest invited many of the drivers to a team kart race held this afternoon at the track’s new International Kart circuit. The race was won by former F1 and current ELMS driver Christian Klien (No.43 NewBlood by Morand Racing Morgan Judd in LMP2) and Florian Duchiron.

***Despite not taking part in the race this year, Allan McNish is still on site at Le Mans in his role as commentator for the Audi TV channel.
