Teo Martin, RS Racing Score GT Open Wins at Paul Ricard
BMW Team Teo Martin and RS Racing both took their first wins of the International GT Open season at Circuit Paul Ricard on Saturday and Sunday.
Fran Rueda and Andres Saravia took their BMW M6 GT3 to the Race 1 win on Saturday before Daniele di Amato and Andrea Montermini were victorious in RS Racing’s Ferrari 488 GT3 in Race 2.
Teo Martin led the entirety of the opening race, which ended behind the safety car because of a sudden shower in the final laps, while Ombra Racing finished second with its Fernando Rees and Damiano Fioravanti-driven car.
The BMW team’s other car took the lead in the pit stops in the next race but Montermini made his way through for the lead in the closing stages.
The pair of Teo Martin BMWs completed the Race 2 podium, meanwhile.
Penalty Denies HHC From Brands Hatch GT4 Sweep
HHC Motorsport lost a double win in the GT4 European Series at Brands Hatch to a post-race penalty, forcing the British team to share the two wins with Phoenix Racing.
Stuart Middleton and Will Tregurtha won both of Sunday’s 60-minute races on the road in their Ginetta G55 GT4 and kept the Race 2 win but lost their first victory after their pit stop was found to be too short.
This gave the win to the No. 5 Phoenix Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4 driven by Nicolaj Moller Madsen and Milan Dontje.
The first race was ended 12 minutes early after a heavy crash for Ricardo van der Ende.
Both Schwede Motorsport and Autorlando Sport swept their respective classes, taking the two wins in Pro-Am and Am, respectively.
