The new Lotus P1/01 has completed an initial shakedown ahead of its planned debut in September’s FIA World Endurance Championship round at Circuit of The Americas.
According to a report on Motorsport-Total.com, the LMP1-L car, unveiled two weeks ago at Le Mans, completed around 100 km on an airfield near Donauwörth, Germany with Thomas Holzer at the wheel.
A full week of testing is planned at a circuit in Southern Europe in July, with Christijan Albers and Pierre Kaffer expected to join Holzer behind the wheel of the AER-powered prototype.
The Lotus P1/01 is only the second LMP1-L car, joining the pair of Rebellion R-One Toyotas, which debuted in the second round of the FIA WEC season at Spa in May.
