The No. 3 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R will start from the rear of the GT Le Mans class field in tomorrow’s Motul Petit Le Mans after flunking post-qualifying technical inspection.
The Antonio Garcia-qualified car, which had initially set the second quickest time in class, failed rear wing position compliance per IMSA SR 22.7.1.
“Ending up at the back doesn’t change our speed. We will have speed tomorrow and that should be a good thing,” said Garcia.
As a result, it will move the No. 24 Team RLL BMW M8 GTE of Philipp Eng to second on the grid for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season finale.
James Calado scored pole for the ten-hour race at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, which gets underway Saturday at 12:05 p.m. ET.
