Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Manager Leaves Position

The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY’s championship manager Marion Barnaby is set to leave her position this week after three years in the role.

Barnaby is set to join R-Motorsport in a specially created role which is believed to revolve around a new special projects division of the Swiss company, which currently competes in DTM and GT3 racing.

Barnaby was central to the creation of the first ever electric SUV series which ran on an arrive and drive model at all but three of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship’s throughout the 2018-19 season.

“After three years at Jaguar Racing, Marion Barnaby will leave the team to pursue other opportunities in motorsport,” confirmed Jaguar Racing director James Barclay.

“As the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY championship manager, Marion has played a pivotal role in creating the championship from an idea to reality including delivering our successful first season and ten races.

“I would like to personally thank Marion for her contribution to Jaguar Racing and wish her well with her new project.”

It’s understood that Jaguar is currently searching for Barnaby’s replacement ahead of the series’ sophomore season which will get underway at Ad Diriyah in November.

Last month Barnaby told e-racing365 that the series was targeting 17 cars for the 2019-20 campaign after achieving an average of 12 in its maiden season.

The first season of the I-PACE eTROPHY saw Sergio Jimenez crowned champion for Jaguar Team Brazil after taking two wins from the ten-date schedule.
