CJ Wilson Racing has confirmed its expansion to a second Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubspprt, beginning with this weekend’s Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge round at Sebring.
Team regular Tyler McQuarrie will be joined by historic racer Till Bechtolsheimer at the wheel of the No. 35 entry for the second round of the season.
The pairing are scheduled to contest six of the remaining Continental Tire Challenge rounds this season.
“I’m so excited to be back with CJ Wilson Racing and proud to be part of this new era and direction the team has taken running the new Porsche Cayman GT4,” McQuarrie said.
“CJWR has been the class of the field over the years and for that I have very high expectations for myself and my new co driver.”
The pairing join season-long co-drivers Marc Miller and Danny Burkett in the No. 33 Porsche, who are coming off a podium finish in January’s season-opener at Daytona.
“The team feels like it’s at full strength now with two cars under the CJWR tent at Sebring,” said team manager Andris Laivins.
“Having Till and Tyler on board for the majority of the season means we are going to accelerate our learning with the Caymans and having a strong lineup alongside Danny and Marc in the 33 gives us a little more muscle on race day.”
