eEuroparts Racing will expand into GS competition, having announced an Audi R8 LMS GT4 entry alongside three Audi RS 3 LMS TCR cars for IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge next year.

The Connecticut-based team, which made its series debut with a single full-season Audi TCR entry, will see Kenton Koch step up to the top class alongside Tyler Cooke, who joins the team following a six-year stint with BimmerWorld Racing.

Koch combined with Tom O’Gorman to score two TCR class victories this year, building into the ramped up effort for 2019.

“The move to GS with the Audi R8 GT4 platform was the natural next step for our team,” said team owner Matt Moran.

“We’re currently an entry level racing team where drivers can start in TCR with the goal of eventually moving into faster equipment.

“Hopefully that’s with our team, but we understand that it’s our responsibility to help our drivers improve their skills regardless, and reach their individual goals in the sport.  I see this as that next evolution for our team.”

The team’s three Audi TCR cars, meanwhile, will be driven by the returning Kieron O’Rourke and Lee Carpenter (No. 10), open-wheel converts Ryan Nash and Russell McDonough (No. 12) and Gavin Ernstone and Jon Morley (No. 61), who competed in two races with the team this year.

“We’re extremely excited to be presenting a four car lineup for 2019,” Moran added

“We know that the TCR category is poised to expand in the upcoming season and we’re looking to improve and grow as a racing team along with the series.”
