Hindman Keeps RS1 Porsche On Top in Friday Practice

Trent Hindman kept RS1 on top in practice for Saturday’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race at Virginia International Raceway by setting the quickest time in the second session of the day.

The RS1 driver took his No. 28 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport to a best time of 1:53.222 to outpace the No. 38 BGB Motorsports Porsche of Spencer Pumpelly by 0.746 seconds.

Hindman’s time was slower than McAleer’s 1:52.334 benchmark in opening practice on Friday morning.

Michael Cooper made it a Porsche sweep of the top three positions in his No. 44 Baby Bull Racing entry, followed by Robin Liddell in fourth in the No. 71 Rebel Rock Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.

The No. 19 Van der Steur Racing previous-gen Aston of Rory van der Steur completed the top-five.

TCR saw the No. 17 Unitronics JDC-Miller Motorsports Audi RS 3 LMS TCR of Mikey Taylor lead the way.

Qualifying for the Virginia is for Racing Lovers Grand Prix gets underway Saturday at 8 a.m. EDT.
