Motorsports In Action led the way in both IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge practice sessions at Road America on Friday, with Jesse Lazare’s time from the morning standing as the quickest of the day.

Lazare reeled off a best lap of 2:15.737 in the No. 69 McLaren Artura GT4 to outpace the No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of Stevan McAleer, who laid down the second quickest time in the afternoon session.

Lazare also set the quickest time in the afternoon, a 2:15.992.

The No. 50 Hattori Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO of Jack Hawksworth was third quickest overall on the day, followed by Kenton Koch’s No. 92 Random Vandals Racing BMW M4 GT4 in fourth and the No. 44 Baby Bull Racing entry of Michael Cooper, who completed the top-five overall and in GS.

TCR was led by the No. 93 Montreal Motorsports Group Honda Civic FL5 TCR of DAI Yoshihara.

The second 60-minute practice session was impacted by four red flags, the first for an off-course excursion by Jaden Conwright in the Hattori Toyota in Turn 10.

Robert Wickens, meanwhile, found the gravel bed in Turn 12 to bring out the second red some 15 minutes later, which was followed by an incident for Rory van der Steur in Turn 10 and another red after Pumpelly went off in Turn 6 in the closing minutes.

The session came to an early end with less than five minutes left on the clock.

Qualifying is set for Saturday at 8 a.m. CDT ahead of the two-hour race getting underway at 1:45 p.m. with live coverage on Peacock and IMSA Radio.
