IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge veteran Mat Pombo will join Czabok-Simpson Motorsport for next month’s round at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, filling in for Jackson Lee in the No. 2 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport driven by Gordon Skully.

Lee has sponsor obligations that weekend during the IndyCar road course event at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

“I’m super excited to be joining the Czabok-Simpson Motorsports team for Laguna Seca,” said Pombo. “They have made great strides with their Porsche’s over the first two weekends and I look forward to getting behind the wheel to see if we can come home with a top five result.

“Such a great pleasure to rejoin my racing family at LAP Motorsports with Rob Ridgely and Luis Perocarpi for the weekend.

“We have had tremendous success in the past, and I fully expect us to be back to our usual competitive natures. Can’t wait to get to California in May.”

CSM managing partner/co-owner Stephen Simpson added: “Mat has had an extensive and successful career racing in IMSA and we look forward to him getting behind the wheel of our No. 2 Porsche GT4 that he will share with Gordon.

“I’m confident that Gordon and Mat will make a strong line up and we are looking forward to a successful weekend.”
