Outgoing IMSA President Scott Atherton was honored during Saturday’s Porsche ‘Night of Champions’ awards ceremony in Stuttgart.

Atherton, who is set to retire from his post at the end of this month following a 20-year run in a leadership role in North American sports car racing, was given a framed poster depicting the Coca-Cola throwback-livered Porsche 911 RSR from October’s Motul Petit Le Mans, as well as the Bob Akin Porsche 935 it drew inspiration from.

The poster, signed by all Porsche factory drivers and others involved in the program, was presented to Atherton by Porsche’s director of factory motorsport, Pascal Zurlinden.

Atherton’s successor, John Doonan, was also in attendance Saturday evening, along with a number of other dignitaries from the world of sports car racing including FIA World Endurance Championship CEO Gerard Neveu, ACO President Pierre Fillon and SRO Motorsports Group founder and CEO Stephane Ratel.
