Bell to Sub for COVID-19 Positive Veach in Detroit

Townsend Bell will make his driving return to Vasser Sullivan Racing for this weekend’s Chevrolet Sports Car Classic as a replacement to Zach Veach in the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3.

Veach has tested positive for COVID-19 and as a result will be unable to drive in Saturday’s 100-minute race.

Bell will be making his first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship start since the season-opening Rolex 24 at Daytona, where he teamed with Frankie Montecalvo, Veach and Robert Megennis.

He had previously teamed with Montecalvo in the No. 12 Lexus for two previous seasons.
