The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship takes to the streets of Detroit’s Belle Isle for the fifth round of the 2016 season this weekend.

Continental Tire Keys to the Race: 

Race: Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers

Track: The Raceway at Belle Isle Park

Length: 1 hour, 40 minutes

Entries: 28 cars spread across three classes: 7 cars (P), 7 cars (PC), 14 cars (GTD)

Schedule:

Friday, June 3 (all times ET)
Practice 1 – 8:05 – 9:35 a.m.
Practice 2 – 12:55 – 2:25 p.m.
Qualifying – 5:05 – 6:05 p.m.

Saturday, June 4
Warm-up – 8 – 8:30 a.m.
Race –  12:40 – 2:20 p.m. (1 hour, 40 minutes)

Previous Winners: Action Express Racing (P), Starworks Motorsport (PC), AJR/The Heart of Racing (GTD)

Previous Polesitters: Christian Fittipaldi (P), James French (PC), Dion von Moltke (GTD).

Driver Insight: “A track like Detroit is very different from a track like Sebring. It’s a street circuit. It’s hard to pass. There’s not as many overtaking opportunities as Sebring. You definitely want to have a good qualifying – that’s very important. And you want to have a good start. So I think that’s going to be the main focus for Detroit.” – Christina Nielsen, Driver No. 63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3.

Drive Times: Minimum: 35 minutes for PC/GTD Silver/Bronze drivers; Maximum: None

Tires: Continental Tire “Black” for P, PC and GTD.

Pit Stops: 40-45 minute stint length for P, PC; 50-55 minutes for GTD
