Action Express Racing’s Mike Conway set the pace in the fourth and final practice session on Friday morning for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The Brit lapped at 1:36.865 in his No. 31 Cadillac DPi-V.R to go 0.181 seconds quicker than Lance Stroll’s No. 37 Jackie Chan DCR JOTA Oreca 07 Gibson.
Conway’s lap was the session-topping time for most of the running while many Prototype teams took the opportunity to get track time for more inexperienced drivers in the second half of the session.
Tristan Vautier was third for Spirit of Daytona Racing while Rene Rast came fourth in the No. 77 Mazda RT24-P.
Neither the No. 55 Mazda nor No. 54 CORE autosport Oreca turned any laps in the 60-minute session.
Joey Hand led the way in the GT Le Mans category after narrowly missing out on pole in Thursday’s qualifying session with the pair of Porsche 911 RSRs behind the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing driver.
Matteo Cairoli topped the GT Daytona category in his Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R while Jeroen Bleekemolen was second in the Mercedes-AMG Team Riley Motorsports entry.
