Phil Hanson put JDC-Miller Motorsports on top of the timesheets for the second practice session ahead of the 72nd running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Cadillac.

The British driver put in a late 1:48.149 flyer to put the No. 85 Porsche 963 0.236 seconds clear of the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac V-Series.R of Sebastien Bourdais.

Bourdais’ effort came similarly late in the session and dropped the No. 31 Action Express Racing machine of Pipo Derani to third place overall.

The No. 40 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Acura ARX-06 of Louis Deletraz took fourth, with Mathieu Jaminet rounding out the overall top five for Porsche Penske Motorsport.

Nick Yelloly came sixth aboard the No. 25 BMW M Hybrid V8, ahead of the No. 7 Porsche of Felipe Nasr and the second BMW driven by Philipp Eng.

Matteo Cairoli slotted into ninth aboard the No. 63 Lamborghini SC63, rounding out the top ten along with WTRAndretti’s Ricky Taylor.

The Iron Lynx-run car completed 30 laps during the 90-minute session on Thursday afternoon, with its running slightly impacted by an off-track moment for Romain Grosjean with 40 minutes to go.

The Frenchman made light contact with the tire wall at Tower, but the car rejoined the session not much later.

Josh Burdon led the LMP2 class by steering the No. 74 Riley Motorsports Oreca 07 Gibson to a best time of 1:52.078, outpacing both CrowdStrike Racing by APR’s Toby Sowery and Inter Europol by PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports driver Tom Dillmann.

Parker Thompson posted a 2:00.337 aboard the No. 12 Lexus RC F GT3 to set the fastest time across both GT classes.

The Canadian led a Vasser Sullivan sweep of both categories, with the sister No. 14 car of Jack Hawksworth 0.067 seconds further back to lead GTD Pro.

Davide Rigon picked up second in GTD Pro aboard the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3, with Oliver Jarvis third for Pfaff Motorsports.

The 90-minute session ran largely uninterrupted, apart from a short red flag for a brief stoppage for the No. 62 Risi Ferrari.

Thursday running for the WeatherTech Championship concludes with night practice, set to kick off at 7:45 PM EDT.
