Robert Kubica will make his Rolex 24 at Daytona debut as part of High Class Racing’s lineup for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opener.

The ex-Formula One star will join Ferdinand Habsburg and team regulars Anders Fjordbach and Dennis Andersen behind the wheel of the Danish squad’s Oreca 07 Gibson LMP2 entry in the Florida endurance classic.

While having made his F1 return in 2019, the Polish driver took part in a season of DTM with BMW last year, where 23-year-old Habsburg was also on the grid but with Audi Sport Team WRT.

Habsburg made his LMP2 debut in the 2018 Rolex 24 in a Jota Sport-entered Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca.

“Daytona 24 Hours is a highlight of my career so far,” Habsburg said. “It was my first 24-hour race and I was totally mesmerized by it – it was like nothing I’d ever experienced before.

“I can’t wait to go back – I’ll definitely approach it with more experience and with the maturity that I’ve developed over the last couple of years racing in DTM and at Spa 24 Hours, but I hope I never lose that buzz of excitement.”

High Class is contesting Daytona as a one-off event ahead of a full-season return to the WEC.

As previously announced, Fjordbach and Andersen will be joined by ex-Corvette Racing driver Jan Magnussen for the six-round world championship.
