The No. 65 Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3 has been stripped of its third place GTD Pro class finish in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen due to an infraction found in post-race technical inspection.
The car, driven by Chris Mies and Frederic Vervisch, was found by IMSA’s technical committee to have had tire pressures and camber beyond the permitted limits, resulting in the car being moved to last place in the GTD Pro finishing results.
It has promoted the No. 81 DragonSpeed Ferrari 296 GT3 of Davide Rigon and Albert Costa to third in the finishing order of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup round.
The No. 65 Mustang GT3 initially bounced back from a late-race off-course excursion that required a nose change during an unscheduled green flag pit stop with 1 hour and 36 minutes to go.
Mies withstood pressure from a number of other GTD Pro contenders to have initially finished on the podium, until the post-race ruling from IMSA.
