Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports has revealed heritage liveries for the ‘IMSA Throwback’ weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, which honor one of the manufacturer’s first-ever color schemes in it’s 25-plus year run.
Both the Nos. 3 and 4 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs in this weekend’s StubHub Monterey SportsCar Championship will sport yellow and white liveries from the Corvette C5-R.
The cars were campaigned for the first half of the 2000 American Le Mans Series season in these colors, up until the program’s debut at 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the entries finished third and fourth in the GTS class.
“Reviewing liveries over the years, it was about finding a striking scheme and one that works well on the Z06 GT3.R body contours and styling lines,” said Pratt Miller Motorsports operation manager Matt Stasiak.
“The C5-R 2000 early-season livery was a perfect fit, while body styling of Corvette’s has evolved over the years, the livery remains timeless.”
Reigning WeatherTech Championship GTD Pro class champions Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims will pilot the No. 3 entry, with Tommy Milner and Nicky Catsburg in the No. 4 car for this weekend’s two-hour and 40-minute race.
