Second Wright Porsche Withdrawn Again

The No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 R will not take part in this weekend’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America, having been withdrawn for the second consecutive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race.

As was the case at Lime Rock, an “unforeseen scheduling conflict” for Michael Schein had led to the car’s withdrawal.

Schein was due to share the wheel of the GT Daytona class contender with Porsche Young Professional Dennis Olsen.

No word has been given if the car will return for the three remaining GTD races of the season.

Wright’s withdrawal will leave a 12-car field in the class and 33 entries altogether for the ninth round of the WeatherTech Championship this weekend.

Track action at the four-mile Wisconsin circuit kicks off on Friday.
