The No. 10 Cadillac – co-driven by Jordan and Ricky Taylor, Max Angelelli and in a special guest appearance at Daytona, retired NASCAR star Jeff Gordon – led three out of the four segments in the first round of the Patrón Endurance Cup.

Finishing second in both the race and the Round 1 Patrón Endurance Cup standings was the No. 5 Action Express Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R, the team that has won all three previous Patrón Endurance Cups in the Prototype class.

The No. 5 trails by just two points, 16-18, while third place, the No. Visit Florida Racing team, sits four point further back, having scored 12 points.

On its way to winning the Prototype Challenge  class, the No. 38 Performance Tech Motorsports lineup of James French, Kyle Masson, Nicholas Boulle and Patricio O’Ward had a perfect score of 20 points after leading all four segments of the Patrón Endurance Cup.

Both of BAR1 Motorsports’ cars, Nos. 20 and 26, tied for second place at 14 points apiece, with Starworks Motorsport rounding out the PC field by having its Nos. 8 and 88 tied at eight points each.

In GT Le Mans, the Porsche GT Team earned first and third, split by the race-winning No. 66 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT. The No. 911 Porsche 911 RSR shared by Patrick Pilet, Dirk Werner and Frederic Makowiecki led two segments on the way to scoring 18 points to take the lead.

No. 66 teammates Dirk Mueller, Joey Hand and Sebastien Bourdais earned 16 points in the Ford and the No. 912 Porsche trio of Kevin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor and Richard Lietz have 11 points.

The closest battle of the Patrón Endurance Cup after Round 1, however, can be found in the GT Daytona class.

The No. 86 Michael Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 shared by Jeff Segal, Ozz Negri, Tom Dyer and Ryan Hunter-Reay has a slight lead, 14-12, over the No. 29 Land-Motorsport Audi R8 LMS GT3. Third features a two-way tie at 11 points between the WeatherTech Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 and race winners Alegra Motorsports in the No. 28 Porsche 911 GT3 R.

The next round of the Patrón Endurance Cup is the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida, which will take place on March 15-18 at Sebring.
