A location familiar to many competitors will host the WeatherTech Night of Champions on Monday, Oct. 3, as International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) officials today confirmed Chateau Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Ga. as the venue for this year’s celebration.

The WeatherTech Night of Champions will recognize team, driver and manufacturer champions in all four IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship classes – Prototype (P), GT Le Mans (GTLM), Prototype Challenge (PC) and GT Daytona (GTD) – as well as recognize champions of the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup.

The gala event will be held at Chateau Élan, North Atlanta’s premier resort and conference destination.

In addition to hosting the WeatherTech Night of Champions, Chateau Élan also will host the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Awards for the third consecutive year.

The awards will honor championship-winning drivers, teams and manufacturers in both the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes on Friday, Sept. 30.

Chateau Élan is minutes away from Road Atlanta, site of the 10-hour Petit Le Mans, which will close out both the WeatherTech Championship and Patrón Endurance Cup season.

The Road Atlanta weekend also will include season finales for the Continental Tire Challenge, IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama and Mazda Prototype Lites presented by Cooper Tires.

The 2016 WeatherTech Night of Champions represents a return of sorts for IMSA’s premier series to Chateau Élan. The Winery & Resort hosted the final American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón awards celebration in 2013.

This year’s Night of Champions will be held in the newly constructed Paris Ballroom, which opened last November.

“Anybody who has visited Chateau Élan Winery & Resort – which includes many IMSA competitors and stakeholders – recognizes what an elegant setting this will be for our WeatherTech Night of Champions,” said IMSA President Scott Atherton.

“We’ve thoroughly enjoyed a number of awards celebrations at Chateau Élan over the years and with its world-class facilities and proximity to Road Atlanta, we believe this year’s celebration will be a terrific showcase for IMSA.”

Information on tickets for the WeatherTech Night of Champions and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Awards will be available later this summer on IMSA.com.
