A total of 65 cars are set to compete for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Grand Finals in Portimao, combining the stars from the popular single-make series in North America and Europe in the first-ever visit to Algarve International Circuit.

Portimao, which becomes the 49th different circuit to host a Super Trofeo round since its debut in 2009, will also play host to bumper grids for each pair of season-ending races for the regional championships, which will take place on Friday ahead of the Grand Finals this weekend.

A record 29 Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 cars are entered in the North America races, with titles still up for grabs in three of the four classes.

While Wayne Taylor Racing’s Kyle Marcelli and Danny Formal locked up the Pro class title last time out at Virginia International Raceway, Pro-Am, Am and LB Cup are all still to play for in Portugal.

Precision Performance Motorsports’ Bryson Lew and John Castro Dubets lead Pro-Am, 11 points clear of teammates Bryan Ortiz and Sebastian Carazo, with the WTR pairing of Ashton Harrison and Tom Long just 17 points back in third.

PPM also heads the Am class, courtesy of Nikko Reger and David Staab, although the duo only have a four-point margin over MCR Racing’s Shehan Chandrasoma.

In LB Cup, Slade Stewart of Flying Lizard Motorsports is nine points ahead of the US RaceTronics pairing of Jon Hirschberg and Ofir Levy, while the Dream Racing Motorsport crew of Charlie Martin and Jason Keats are just 11 points further back and also still in with a mathematical chance of the title.

Loris Spinelli, who is set to pull double-duty between both Super Trofeo North America and Europe races, meanwhile, has already clinched the Super Trofeo Europe Pro class title alongside Max Weering for Bonaldi Motorsport.

Oregon Team’s Massimo Ciglia and Lewis Williamson lead the way in Pro-Am, with Andrzej Lewandowski of VS Racing heading the Am class standings and three-time class champion Gerard van der Horst out front in LB Cup in Super Trofeo Europe.

The weekend will feature a number of high-profile drivers and entries, including  MotoGP race winner Dani Pedrosa, who will be completing his three-race program in the No. 10 Rexal FFF Racing Team car alongside Swiss co-driver Antonin Borga.

Pedrosa made his series debut in the Super Trofeo Europe season opener at Imola before taking part in the Misano round in July.

Doriane Pin and Michelle Gatting have been confirmed in an Iron Dames Lamborghini while ex-Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet Jr. is expected to take part in the Grand Finals for the first time, driving for ANSA Motorsports in the North America series.

The weekend kicks off on Thursday with free practice and qualifying, while the final two races of the Super Trofeo North America season scheduled to take place at 11:00 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. local time on Friday. The pair of Europe races, also on Friday, are set for 8:35 a.m. and 1:25 p.m., respectively.

Qualifying for the Grand Finals are scheduled for Saturday morning. The first race, reserved for the Am and Lamborghini Cup classes, will start at 2:45 p.m. while that of the Pro and Pro-Am classes will begin at 4:05 p.m.

Race 2 in Am/LB Cup is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday before the second Pro/Pro-Am race at 2:50 p.m.

All races will be live streamed on the Lamborghini Squadra Corse YouTube channel.
