Nine-time Motocross World Champion Tony Cairoli (pictured above) and five-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro will share a guest entry in this weekend’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final at Jerez.

The pair will run in Super Trofeo Asia’s Pro-Am category on Friday before competing as a wildcard entry in the World Final races on Saturday and Sunday.

Cairoli won the Monza Rally Show in 2018 and has tested a Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car but this will mark his first time racing a GT car. He has completed some testing in the Huracan Super Trofeo, however.

“My thanks to Lamborghini, who gave us the chance to do some test drives at Vallelunga,” commented Cairoli.

“The car was really fantastic to drive and everything went well except for the weather, which partially ruined the second day of testing. Now we’re looking forward to the World Final, which will be a true debut for me.”

Pirro won Le Mans overall on three occasions between 2000 and 2007, driving for Audi, and picked up two American Le Mans Series titles within the same period.

“I am super excited to take part in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Final for more than one reason,” he said.

“First, because I’ll finally get to drive this iconic car in a race, and second, sharing it with a true legend like Tony Cairoli will make it even more special.

“It will be the perfect way to get to know from the inside how the Super Trofeo works, in light of my role as Motorsport consultant for Lamborghini.”
