Formal Paces Friday Practice at The Brickyard

Danny Formal was quickest in Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America practice for this weekend’s pair of races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Formal, in the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, recorded a best lap of 1:25.344 in Friday’s second practice session of the day.

It was 0.484 seconds quicker than teammate Ryan Norman in the No. 84 Lamborghini, with Forty7 Motorsports’ Jake Walker third on the overall and Pro class time charts.

Luke Berkeley led the way in the Pro-Am class in the No. 42 NTE Sport Lamborghini, thanks to a 1:25.982 lap time that had topped the overall time charts in opening practice.

The No. 66 Forty7 Motorsports entry of AJ Muss was quickest of the Am class competitors, while LB Cup was again led by the No. 50 Forte Racing by US RaceTronics Lamborghini of Mark Wilgus.

A total of 36 cars are taking part this weekend in the highly competitive single-make series, down from the initial 42 cars on the entry list that was published last week.

Qualifying is set to get underway Saturday at 8 a.m. EDT.
