Kyle Marcelli and Danny Formal rounded off their title-winning Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America campaign with a 10th victory of the season in Race 2 at Vallelunga.

The Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti Autosport duo beat teammate Ryan Norman, who led the opening stint from pole, while Giano Taurino and Lucas Petersson took third.

Norman made a strong start from the front of the grid, as Marcelli quickly passed Patrick Liddy and remained close to the leader through the early stages of the 50-minute contest.

But when Norman completed his mandatory stop towards the end of the mid-race window, a few laps later than Marcelli, Formal moved into the lead and emerged five seconds clear of the No. 184 WTR Andretti Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2.

Despite closing the gap to within two seconds in traffic, Norman was unable to challenge Formal who went on to restore the original gap. Taurino finished a further 16 seconds behind in the No. 188 TR3 Racing car.

Jake Walker came through in fourth, one position ahead of the Pro-Am class-winning TPC Racing Lamborghini driven by Nicholas Reger and Shehan Chandrasoma.

Liddy led the first stint after qualifying on the overall front row, but his amateur co-driver Blake McDonald came under increasing pressure from Chandrasoma after the stops.

The TPC driver moved ahead with 13 minutes to go and stretched clear to a 4.3-second margin of victory.

McDonald and Liddy ultimately placed in third after Nate Stacy overtook the former at the Turn 4 right-hander with three minutes to go.

David Staab won the Am class in his Precision Performance Motorsports machine, while Graham Doyle prevailed in LB Cup for WTR Andretti.

With the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season completed, the U.S. teams will turn their attention to the Lamborghini World Finals taking place over the weekend.
