Rising star Brandon Gdovic has joined Mitchum Motorsports as part of its multi-car effort in this year’s Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America championship.

The 22-year-old, who competed in five different series last year including NASCAR and ARCA, will pilot a Lamborghini Gallardo Super Trofeo in the six-round championship, which kicks off at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in May.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to race a Lamborghini and get more sports car experience,” Gdovic said.

“Mitchum Motorsports are the reigning champions, and have a stellar track record in the series. We are all expecting great results and I am looking forward to contending for the championship.

“Racing a Lamborghini is a challenging opportunity and I plan to use this experience in Super Trofeo to progress into the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.”

While the NASCAR K&N Pro standout will be making the transition will be making his transition to sports car racing, the defending Lamborghini Super Trofeo championship-winning squad is prepared to support Gdovic’s new challenge.

“Coming from a circle track background myself, I know and understand the difficulties and the challenges an oval racer has to overcome to have success in road racing” said team manager Sunny Voelker.

“Brandon is a quick study in any type of race car, and I have faith that his talent coupled with the team’s support is the perfect recipe for not only getting Brandon acclimated to sports cars, but also get him on the podium.”
