Riley Dickinson topped the opening day of track action at Porsche Carrera Cup North America’s penultimate event of the season by setting the quickest lap time across a pair of practice sessions at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on Wednesday.

The Kellymoss driver reeled off a 1:22.470 in his No. 91 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car in this morning’s 30-minute session, with none of the other 28 cars on track able to best his time in this afternoon’s 40-minute practice.

Dickinson’s time came on his 14th and final attempt around the 2.54-mile circuit in Practice 1 to outpace Ryan Yardley, who topped Practice 2 in his No. 78 Topp Racing Porsche, though he was 0.225 seconds off the Kellymoss driver’s overall pace.

Aaron Jeansonne was third-quickest overall on the day in the No. 24 Kellymoss Porsche, having set his best lap alongside Dickinson in Practice 1.

Topp Racing also had two cars inside the overall top five, with Tyler Maxson going fourth-quickest with his best effort in Practice 2, placing him just ahead of Michael McCann, who rounded out the overall top five times of the day.

Kellymoss also topped the Pro-Am class practice times with Alan Metni reeling off a 1:23.770-second lap in Practice 2 to place him 15th-quickest on the day.

Ruckus Racing’s Scott Blind was fastest in the Masters class, in the No. 45 entry, having set his best time in Practice 1.

The morning session saw Chris Bellomo survive an off at Turn 3 before continuing on in his No. 68 Kellymoss Porsche.

Later on, however, a brief red flag came out when the No. 13 Masters class Kellymoss car of Todd Parriott went off at Turn 1, stopping the session for two minutes before he was able to continue on. Competitors had six minutes of green flag running to end the session.

Practice 2, by comparison, ran green from start to finish, with all 29 drivers in attendance setting representative lap times in both practice sessions.

Qualifying for Carrera Cup North America takes place Thursday at 8:35 a.m. EST ahead of the first race of the season later that afternoon.
