Porsche Carrera Cup North America rookie Callum Hedge led the way in the pair of practice sessions for this weekend’s triple-header at Road America.
The Kiwi topped the times both 30 and 40-minute sessions on Thursday morning, with his benchmark 2:08.350 lap time from the latter good enough to edge out points leader Tyler Maxson by more than three-tenths.
It came, however, after the JDX Racing driver, along with three others, served drive-through penalties in the second session for repeated track limits violations in either Turns 1 and 14.
Both sessions ran without any stoppages or accidents, though.
Jared Thomas was third quickest in the combined times in his JTR Motorsports Engineering Porsche 911 Cup, ahead of recent first-time winner Janne Stiak in the No. 40 ACI Motorsports entry, in a time that was set in the early morning session.
Sabre Cook completed the overall top-five in her JDX entry.
Patrick Mulcachy was quickest in Pro-Am in his ACI Porsche, while Ruckus Racing driver Scott Blind led the way in Masters.
Qualifying for the first round of the weekend is on tap for 3:45 p.m. CST.
