Michelin Motorsport director Pascal Couasnon has received a promotion, with former motorsports manager Matthieu Bonardel rejoining the fold, as part of a reorganization within the company’s executive team for mobility and motorsports.

Announced on Tuesday, Couasnon has been appointed the director for Mobility Experience, replacing Alexandre Taisne.

The former Vice President of marketing for Michelin North America, however, will maintain his role at the head of competition, with Bonardel being drafted in as Michelin’s new motorsport director.

Bonardel, who has been the director of Michelin’s connected tire department, had previously served as manager for four-wheel competition activities from 2000-10.

The changes come amid a ramped up involvement from the French tire manufacturer in sports car racing, having been named the official tire of IMSA in 2019, which will include entitlement sponsorships of the Michelin Pilot Challenge and Michelin Endurance Cup.
