Tom Dillmann has parted ways with Floyd Vanwall Racing Team, coming to a “mutual agreement” to bring an end to a relationship that dated back to 2018.

Dillmann was one of the longest-tenured drivers with Colin Kolles’ operation, first joining the team’s LMP1 program during the 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship ‘Super Season.’

Before that, he had brief stints racing in WEC with Signatech Alpine and Extreme Speed Motorsports.

The Frenchman competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times with Kolles, most recently teaming with Esteban Guerrieri and Tristan Vautier aboard the No. 4 Vanwall Vandervell 680 Gibson.

“Vanwall and Tom Dillmann reached a mutual agreement to end the 2023 WEC collaboration in good terms,” the team wrote in a statement on social media.

“We wish Tom, who supported our program with his skills for the last five years all the best for the future.”

Dillmann posted a similar statement for his part, hinting at a “new chapter” in his career.

“Vanwall and I have reached a mutual agreement to end our 2023 WEC collaboration in good terms,” Dillmann said.

“I wish the team all the best for the future and thank them for their trust the last five years! For me it is time to move on and provocate a new chapter. Thank you all for your support.”

Dillmann becomes the second driver this season to part ways with Vanwall after Jacques Villeneuve was replaced by Vautier ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

De Oliveira Confirmed as Dillmann Replacement

Joao Paulo de Oliveira has been confirmed as Dillmann’s replacement starting at the upcoming 6 Hours of Monza

The Super GT driver, who currently competes with Kondo Racing in the GT300 class of the Japanese championship, will make his WEC debut.

The Brazilian previously drove the Vanwall Vandervell 680 during a two-day test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last December, but missed out on a seat as the team opted for a lineup consisting of Jacques Villeneuve, Dillmann and Guerrieri.
